“the slowness of craft still matters. The weight of good paper, the texture of a cover, the discipline of editing, the patience it takes to typeset a poem line by line: these things are not trivial. They are the ritual of attention.”
I love this. Full agree. Our attention to the physical world is ancient and necessary and urgent.
The Permanence of a journal, how beautiful! I’ve been saying so much lately how the only place where our thoughts remain ours is in a journal. No AI scanning our pages there and copying our deepest thoughts
Ancient to modern, art has always demanded time. It’s a ritual older than language itself the waiting, the shaping, the quiet discipline of creation. And it’s beautiful. In a world built for speed, the patience of art is its rebellion. We keep the craft alive by refusing to rush what asks to be made slow!!
I think you’ve hit on something big here, the reverence for art as it arrives, not as a polished mechanistic commodity, but its weight, scent, and texture undistilled. What could be more beautiful.
Watch this space, I’ll be sharing more over the comings weeks and months. We’ll be launching The LemonLight Prize ($3k fund) in 2026, opening up manuscript submissions for our first few limited edition print runs, and sharing more about our journey. Lots to do and get involved in.
It sounds like a revolution, indeed. And isn't that we are coming back to valuing most? Reclaiming back our humanity and our creations.
"Poetry as art, not commodity." Just this.

It’s rare to find a space that carries so much integrity and respect. I’ll definitely be following along and supporting.
Good on you GK.
I’m intrigued.

" a rebellion wrapped in reverence. A belief that beauty, once made, should last."
Yes to deliberate, sustainable, soulful.
